The fabrics of the future, with the Ecole de Condé

Many of you have asked us about our activity, selling fabrics? To individuals ? To professionals? How does la Maison Torretto Tessuti support its customers and the creators of tomorrow?

TORRETTO TESSUTI AND THE CREATIVES OF TOMORROW

We have been advising fashion and design schools as well as sewing courses for years! We provide students with quality materials and guide them in their creative learning.

We have a special relationship with one of these schools. It is the school of Condé Nice where a member of our team, Thibaud, was trained.

DESIGN OF A CONTEMPORARY UNIVERSE

To inspire you in a whole new way, we present this new collaboration: Our adventure with theschool of Condé and its students.

An association which is for us an obvious one: this establishment interprets the needs of today and tomorrow and gives a huge field of action and reflection. It is not limited to the instruction of an academic practice but proposes a vision, an opening on innovation.

"We see the Conde School as a modern, forward-thinking, future-oriented institution."

We dedicate to this collaboration, a universe and of course, a selection of fabrics. Materials to design a world inspired by techwear and streetwear. Fabrics for outfits that transcribe the personalities of the students of the Condé school with whom we have collaborated.

PART1 - LIGHTING

It all started this summer. Following discussions with the school's pedagogical leaders, we emphasized the importance of the choice and knowledge of subjects for future fashion actors.

How to source materials? How to feed your creations with meaning? How to choose the fabrics according to the projects? Many questions arise when learning a creative profession, dressmakers, designers ...

The idea behind this collaboration is to highlight and support the learning of tomorrow's professionals.

We roll up our sleeves to guide them by offering them quality fabrics, made in Italy and coming from dormant stocks, like ours. A winning combo for creations with a qualitative rendering but also respectful of current issues. Don't you think?

In September, the first step of this collaboration is to supply the creation workshops of the Condé school. For this, our team selects, cuts and shapes complete kits with samples of different materials. The goal? To teach the students to recognize weaving, finishing, materials etc.

We also offer students a back-to-school essentials kit, including pattern cloth, iron-on, and other essential materials, for learning how to construct a garment.

If you have any questions about the kits, you can write to us at the following address: serviceclient@en.tessuti.fr

PART2 - INSPIRE

But learning would be nothing without application. In order to fuel creativity and to make people understand the issues related to the subject, we are launching a challenge!

"Stimulate new, ever more unexpected creativity."

Allowing to discover one of our flagship materials, high-end, from stocks of major fashion house (it is the double Crepe - Capta), the theme of the challenge couture is: The reinterpretation of the street style trend in the fashion of today and tomorrow.he theme of the couture challenge is: The reinterpretation of the street style trend in the fashion of today and tomorrow.

A fabric coupon is then distributed to each student volunteer to be used in a reasoned way in the sewing of a practical and sustainable. The result? 18 participants and 4 winners elected by a jury composed of 4 personalities involved in thefashion world (Nicki creator of the clothing brand made in Nice, Vieilles âmes. Thibaut founder of the up-cycled clothing brand, Archie Bows. Nelly, independent pattern maker, MOF and teacher. Valérie, pedagogical manager at the school of Condé) accompanied by Thibaud !

     PART3 - IMMORTALIZE

Final step of our collaboration: Monday January 2nd, in Nice, a photo shooting is organized.

"Immortalizing creative efforts, inspiring for the future."

A real challenge to start the year 2023! Photographer, make-up artists, are available to the winners of the challenge.

A real moment of sharing, this shooting is also the moment to present the whole of our STILE STRADA selection to the students. Technical and original fabrics, to sew the creations that they inspired us.

    MATERIALS FOR TOMORROW

La Maison Torretto Tessuti has always been committed to sourcing contemporary materials that meet tomorrow's demands and needs in terms of style, ethics and practicality.

Collaborating with these future actors of the fashion world is an opportunity for us to put forward this type of fabric that we value. We believe that fabrics with technical fibers and new generations have their place in the creation, whether for a hand-sewn wardrobe, DIY or the development of ready-to-wear brands ... The future of the trades and the fashion industry is through the use of all types of materials mixing traditional and modern fabrics.

It is up to us, to you, to write the future of creation and to aspire to an ever more responsible, reasoned and imaginative creativity. We hope that this immersion in our collaboration will inspire you to rethink tomorrow together.

We thank Nicki, Thibaut, Nelly, Jina Luciani, Amandine Brincat, Valérie Seltz, Eve, Roxane, Sasha and Elsa as well as all the students who made this collaboration possible.
