New York inspirations 

New York, place of all possibilities and continuous inspirations, it is the city where we live and make fashion.

That's right! Fashion is an integral part of New York's energy, its streets, its buildings and even the lives of those who live there. It is this setting that led us to a unique, qualitative and eclectic selection, worthy of the place: the DROP NEW YORK.

1. Meet a New York designer

If we want to understand the relationship between fashion, fabric and New York, we need someone who has evolved, worked and taken thousands of steps in this city. Don't you think? 

So let's meet Nicki. New Yorker and designer, she has been using our fabrics for several years for her clothing brand : Old Souls.

She takes us on a tour of several iconic locations in the city that never sleeps to inspire new couture ideas and inspiration. Let's go ! 

• First stop: Brooklyn Bridge

We'd be hard-pressed to draw, even in broad strokes, the way New York has a sense of style. But if there's one place that inspired us to select fabrics with a Big Apple theme, it's the Brooklyn Bridge. 

A link between Brooklyn and Manhattan, it is the expression of the city's grandeur. Luminous, powerful, mythical, it inspires a desire for timeless, chic and comfortable creations. 

Here are the style ideas from Old Souls:

a. Blouse 

Here named HARMONIE, Nicki recommends a blouse in our beautiful Crepe satin night blue! A timeless style with an over the hip cut, gathered shoulder seams, draped sleeves and, for the irresistible detail, covered buttons. Autre destination de notre périple New-Yorkais : Le coeur vibrant de cette ville, Times Square.

Il nous inspire des tissus créatifs, colorés, audacieux, qui font sentir différents et révèlent la personnalité de ceux ou celles qui les portent. Oui, à New York on exprime ce que l'on souhaite, ce qu’on ressent avec la mode. Alors, que vous souhaitez dessiner des silhouettes chaleureuses, pétillantes ou puissantes, c'est cette sélection de tissus, et ces idées de looks, qu'il vous faut : 

a. Pantalon palazzo

Découvrez un pantalon appelé STREAM FÊTE qui rehausse le style sans sacrifier le confort. 2. Torretto Tessuti in New York

We chose this destination for what it inspires us, but that's not all. Torretto Tessuti has a special bond with this city. Our fabrics are those produced for the big names in fashion as well as those in New York. Excellence, innovation, singularity, it is of course in the capital of fashion that we find the flagship of quality fabrics.

It is in this city and with these requirements that Alessandro (member of our team) was trained in the textile industry. Find the few lines that explain the beginning of his adventure in the standing city: 

 "New York, a place we all know without really knowing it, the idea we have of it through movies, series, songs, works. We always imagine a healthy madness, a unique place, gigantic, disproportionate, which is like no other. Le Corbusier said: "Hundreds of times I have thought that New York is a catastrophe, and about fifty times: it is a magnificent catastrophe".

I discovered New-York at 19 years old, my imagination was filled with the stories my father had told me. I discovered this immense city one afternoon in early May, the wind was blowing hard, the bluish tint of this overall photo already made me love this place.

A place that resized my place in the world, me as a young adult, with only the desire to do well and no experience, I was going to learn the job I do today. This subway, these buildings, these avenues, absolutely everything obsessed me. Avenue Of The Americas, I decided, would be the avenue I would take every morning to go to the company that would contribute to making me the man I was to become.

While this avenue offered me a pedestrian detour, I took advantage of every moment, every morning, to draw a certain energy. There, I looked at these people who surrounded me, who walked and I repeated to myself, "you see it is at the corner of this street that perhaps the destiny of the world, of today and tomorrow, is decided". - Alessandro
